Chana Ewing's An ABC of Equality Debut
Chana Ewing's "An ABC of Equality" book debuted to friends and colleagues with cheers and excitement. The book, illustrated by Paulina Morgan, explaining equality to children through their ABC's, is one of the many business endeavors that Chana dedicates herself to. The GeenieBox event was the last time we linked up and I was happy to once again capture her event.
Being an event photographer in NYC allows me to visit many places that I've never been to and these 2 events were no exception. The first event was at Harriett's Rooftop in downtown Brooklyn where the warm, summer evening was spent sipping cocktails, discussing the future of the book, networking and even some friendly debates on equality topics. The sight from the Brooklyn rooftop bar had a crazy awesome view of the Manhattan skyline.
The 2nd event was at the Dumbo location of The Wing, known to be one of their most beautiful and renowned locations. I was very excited to learn of the event taking place at this particular location, as I had recently just discovered The Wing's existence. The week prior, I had worked as a production assistant on an unrelated video project for The Wing and this gave me an opportunity to explore a new location.
The Wing, if you haven't heard of it, is a women's co-working/networking/friendship club, founded in NYC. Events are known to have various speakers, screenings and panels that help and teach members in various realms and on various topics. For this event, a panel was heralded by Chana, who selected a few letters from the equality book and discussed with panelists what these particular letters meant to them. It was a very interesting and engaging discussion that ended with a Q&A session with the audience.
